Yiwu Fair 2026: From Exhibition Meetings to Market Sourcing

The Yiwu Fair is a place to start supplier conversations. The purchasing work continues afterwards: identifying the exact product, checking quotation details, arranging samples and deciding how orders from different suppliers should be managed. This guide explains how an overseas buyer can connect a fair visit with a focused Yiwu sourcing programme.

Which Yiwu event is this?

The event is the China Yiwu International Commodities Fair – Export Goods Exhibition, commonly called the Yiwu Fair. It is not an art exhibition. According to the organizer's official introduction, the 32nd edition is scheduled for October 21–24, 2026 at Yiwu International Expo Center.

The organizer lists sectors including daily consumer goods, hardware tools, architectural hardware, electronic appliances, toys, sports and outdoor leisure goods, stationery and trade services. Check the official directory for the exhibitors and sections relevant to your own range, and confirm registration and daily admission arrangements before travelling.

The image in this article shows signage for the 31st edition. It is included as a reference view of the venue, not as evidence of attendance at the 2026 event.

The fair and the Yiwu market serve different purchasing tasks

A fair visit gives you a concentrated set of exhibitor meetings during fixed dates. A separate market visit lets you continue selected product comparisons and investigate gaps in your assortment. They should not be treated as the same venue or as interchangeable shopping trips.

For example, a retailer may discover a storage range at the exhibition but still need related household items, packaging choices or a second supplier for comparison. A useful follow-up brief identifies those gaps precisely. It does not simply ask an agent to find “everything cheap.” Our Yiwu market guide can help you prepare a category-focused discussion before arranging visits.

Build a usable supplier record at each meeting

Take notes that another person can understand after you leave the booth. With the supplier's permission, photograph the sample and attach the product code, business name and contact to the same record. Save the quotation version so later changes can be checked.

  • Record material, dimensions, colour, construction and intended use.
  • Ask whether the minimum quantity applies to each model, colour or package.
  • Separate sample costs, product prices, custom packaging and transport charges.
  • Request units per carton, packed measurements and gross weight.
  • Identify which product documents and quality checks need further review.

A low display price is not necessarily a comparable export quotation. Confirm the specification, delivery basis and included costs before choosing between suppliers. Photographs alone cannot establish product safety, compliance or production consistency.

Turn your shortlist into a controlled order

After the fair, divide your shortlist into three groups: products ready for sample review, products needing clarification and products that do not fit your requirements. This keeps follow-up focused and prevents incomplete quotations from being treated as approved orders.

For shortlisted items, agree on the reference sample, packaging, labels and acceptance criteria before production. Ask who owns each next action and when a response is needed. If a specification changes, keep the revised version with the supplier record rather than relying on separate chat messages.

For multi-supplier orders, discuss receiving arrangements and shipment compatibility before assuming everything can be consolidated. Late production, fragile goods, carton protection or different documentation needs can affect the plan. Compare the options with the logistics provider before setting a final handoff date.

Combining Guangzhou and Yiwu requires a realistic calendar

Buyers considering both exhibitions should note that the announced Yiwu Fair dates overlap with part of Canton Fair Phase 2, which runs October 23–27, 2026. Prioritize the products and meetings that matter most; do not assume full attendance at both is possible without a trade-off. See our 140th Canton Fair sourcing plan for the official phase schedule and preparation checklist.

A Yiwu market follow-up can be planned separately from exhibition attendance. Confirm supplier availability and your travel arrangements rather than assuming an exhibitor will be available after the fair closes.

How ROYAL UNION can support your follow-up

ROYAL UNION is a Yiwu-based sourcing and supply-chain partner under MU Group. Depending on the agreed project, support can include product and supplier research, quotation clarification, samples, order follow-up, quality-check coordination, receiving and multi-supplier consolidation preparation.

Send your product list, booth or supplier contacts, expected quantities, destination country and target timing. If you have already returned home, share your notes and sample photos so our team can review the next steps. We do not claim official Yiwu Fair agency status, guaranteed supplier availability or a fixed MOQ for every category.

Start with the products you actually want to buy
